Job Description:
The Solutions Foundation, a leading provider of integrated behavioral healthcare services has a Full Time Youth Counselor position available for our Youth Empowerment program in Los Angeles, CA. The position is available only to those applicants seeking practical hours towards MFT/LCSW or MSW licensure. Applicant will work directly with license psychologist. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor/Program Director. Duties include assessments and creation of individualized treatment plans, facilitation of individual and group sessions with documentation and participation in case conference and crisis intervention. Maintains a case of at least 20-30 clients at all times Facilitate group therapy sessions on a daily basis and documenting the session with clients in the groups. Schedule individual sessions. Prepares weekly/monthly activity report including, treatment plans, 90 day updates to the treatment plans. Perform other related duties as assigned Must be available Monday through Friday some mornings, afternoons and evenings until 8:30pm.

Experience/Education: Must Have Current BBS# Must be listed on Resume


  2. 2 years of experience of working with youths

  3. MA Degree in child counseling, development or psychology, social services or vocational counseling or related social science field

  4. This position serves high risk underserved population in a multi-discipline team approach involving parent partners and case managers

  5. Experience with DMH and / or DCFS, Probation highly desired

  6. Ability to perform clear, concise and timely documentation and correspondence EMR

  7. Bilingual Spanish is Highly Desired to meet our current client needs

  8. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)

  9. License: Valid California Driver's License (Insurance) and Ability to drive to and from clients homes in personal vehicle

  10. Excellent youth oriented treatment & organizational skills to ensure appropriate treatment

  11. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, work collaboratively with staff &
    develop treatment plans

Job Description:
Writes local, regional, statewide grants to governmental orgs and private foundations. Coordinates the implementation of grant awards and ensures post-award compliance. Compiles financial (in conjunction with Director of Finance and Administration) and non-financial data for the preparation of internal reports, compliance reports, and grant billings.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Writes and submits grant applications on behalf of TSF for donations/grants

  • Development grant application calendar for all grant requests by internal customers across the state

  • Researches grant opportunities statewide

  • Develop in conjunction with Director of Finance, grant administration policies and procedures in accordance with state, local, and federal regulations

  • Performs various general grant administration functions such as billings, budget amendments, plan change, program evaluation, etc

  • Ensures accurate and timely preparation of grant billings and reports in conjunction with Director of Finance

  • Creates and maintains appropriate spreadsheets and documentation to support grant expenses in conjunction with Director of Finance

  • Ongoing monitoring of grant budgets and expenditures to ensure targets are met

  • Ongoing monitoring of grant program goals and monthly performance

  • Works with appropriate agency departments to gather data for reports and ensure that proper records are maintained

  • Communicates relevant grant information with agency departments and all appropriate internal users

  • Prepare written and statistical reports for various audiences

  • Perform any other duties, as necessary

Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required

  • Proven track record in grant writing including but not limited to local and state government grants, federal funding requests, capacity building proposals and funding requests to private and family foundations (ranging from $5000 to $2M)

  • Two years of grant administration experience preferred

  • Knowledge of grants and grant administration systems, processes and budgeting

  • Ability to understand mentoring program operation

  • Ability to analyze and systematically compile technical and statistical information and to prepare reports and correspondence; comprehend and make inferences from written material; interpret federal, state, and local government laws and regulations regarding grant contracts and administration; review the work products of others to ensure conformance to standards; communicate orally and in writing with customers, clients or the public; work effectively with a variety of staff, other governmental representatives, and the public; operate a variety of office equipment

  • Highly Proficient in Word and Excel

  • Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying
