Michael L. Hudspeth Michael L. Hudspeth
Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mr. Hudspeth is an ordained minister with a passion for rebuilding lives derailed by drugs, crime, illiteracy and homelessness. He founded The Solutions Foundation in 1992 to provide holistic treatment (mind, body and spirit) of clients in the Crenshaw district. He has been recognized for his work by Senator Diane Feinstein, the Board of Education of Los Angeles, the county of Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and the County of Los Angeles Probation Department. Mr. Hudspeth strongly believes that "If we don’t clean up our community we won’t have one… our kids are the answer."

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Angela was educated by various schools in the Los Angeles School District. She is married and is a proud mother of two who has always had a passion for helping people. She shares that her experience with The Solutions Foundation has opened her eyes to the reality that there is truly a need for the foundation and the various services that we offer.
Diane Brown Diane Brown
Administrative Assistant

Diane started her career in the most important field of all, wife and mother of 3 children. It is from this maternal place that her desire to nurture at-risk-youth was born. Diane has served in the capacity of HR Management Trainee and Recruiting Manager. When presented with the opportunity to work with Solutions, she rose to the occasion and embraced the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the youth in our community. Two years later with the Solutions Foundation, Diane has mastered many different departments within the company covering Counseling Group sessions, Case Management, Assistant program Manager, H.R, and now currently Eligibility Biller in the Financial Department. Diane is so grateful to have the opportunity for continued growth with The Solution Foundation and its future business expansions as a dedicated employee.
Alyese Johnson Alyese Johnson
Billing Administrator/MFT Intern

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Alyese graduated from St. Bernard High School in Playa del Rey, California. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Spelman College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Alyese returned to Los Angeles in 2009 when she decided to attend The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she gained her Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Alyese has a passion for working with the youth in her community and works daily to make a difference one child at a time.

Medical Director

Bambi L. Nickelberry, M.D. is a board certified family physician who has been in practice for over thirty years. She has subspecialties in Sports Medicine and Alternative Medicine. Her commitment to quality comprehensive health care for the community has earned her numerous local and national awards. She has hosted radio and television shows addressing health education. As Medical Director of Enlightened Medical Alliance, she continues to offer health and nutrition seminars throughout the community.
Dr. Edward Armstrong - Psy.D.

Licensed Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Director

Dr. Edward Armstrong is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and is currently working for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Dr. Armstrong is an Assistant Professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where he instructs in the Clinical Forensic Psy.D. Program, provides clinical supervision and oversees dissertation research. He is also a Lead Faculty Area Chair at the University of Phoenix in the College of Criminal Justice and Security. In addition to his Lead Faculty responsibilities, Dr. Armstrong instructs courses in Psychology, Human Services, Criminal Justice and in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program. Dr. Armstrong is the Psychological Services Coordinator at Avalon-Carver Community Center, and works independently providing clinical services.

Dr. Armstrong is a former United States Marine and a Retired Police Officer, Pasadena Police Department. He has over 18 years of Law Enforcement experience working a variety of challenging assignments. Dr. Armstrong received his Bachelors of Science in Applied Management from Azusa Pacific University. He earned his Masters of Arts and Doctor of Psychology Degree in Forensic Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Dr. Armstrong's mental health experience includes working with at-risk adolescents, sex offenders, inpatient populations, older adults and in program development and administration.

Espanola Johnson Espanola Johnson
Program Manager

Was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is happily married and the mother of four. She started in the field as a substance abuse counselor and now is a certified drug and alcohol specialist/parenting instructor. Through her hard work and dedication to the clients and staff members she has attained a management position. As a result of her trials and tribulations she endured in her past she has gained valuable life experience as well as the passion and desire to help others overcome adversities and challenges like her own. She believes that there is no one who should be excluded from a second chance for success and that everyone is capable of change. She truly puts her heart and souls into her career.
